The Foundation’s mission includes the education and enrichment of the lives of young children (pre-school through third grade) in Virginia’s lower Northern Neck.
Students who plan to teach at the primary school level in the lower Northern Neck of Virginia may apply for a loan from the Foundation to complete the educational requirements for certification as a primary school teacher in Virginia. Only college juniors, seniors, or master’s degree candidates at Virginia public colleges and universities may apply. Students who return to the area and teach reduce their loan obligation. Recipients must reside in the counties of Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond, or Middlesex while satisfying the terms of the loan. After four years of qualifying service, the loan is considered paid in full. Learn more.
